SMALL AND RURAL CHURCHES UNITED
![]() This internet outreach is a product of the fifth district of the A.M.E. Church, Bishop John Bryant is the prelate for the district. Though this ministry is based in the African Methodist Episcopal Church we want all small and rural churches regardless of denomination to come together to gather strength, share resources help one another. God is using his small and rural churches as a specialized team to fill the "Great Commission." We invite you to look around. We also ask that you sign up if you would like to receive emails regarding new grants. From the very beginnings of the A.M.E. denomination, connectionalism took a priority. It is in our A.M.E nature to help one another by sharing resources and offering encouragement. Scripture tells us to lift one another up with encouragement. Some exciting things have happened since we first published this web site. We are hearing from churches across the country and around the world. Thank you for writing us and we hope others will also write us. Please tell other churches, your Bishops, and Presiding Elders and members about S.A.R.C.U for there is strength in numbers. We now have a church and a Christian organization from Zambia, India, 17 small churches in Kenya, and a church in Brazil, and Uganda. In addition to churches in Japan, Canada, and the USA. We welcome them and all others who are joining us for the first time. We are thrilled to extend the hand of A.M.E fellowship to all Christians. Remember your ministry is important to God! And the work you are doing is building the kingdom of God. Please remember 1.) Small churches are important to God. 2.) We are an intricate part of God's plan for salvation and 3.) We can do all things with God. There is an interesting phenomona that happens when clergy get together for the first time and they are asked about their churches. They define success by the number of members in the church. Alas for churches with fewer than 100 or 50 members one can feel like a failure. Well you are not! If you are preaching the gospel message and following in the ways of our Lord and Savior you are a winner for God. Remember Jesus began his ministry with 12 ordinary men and changed them into extraordinary disciples for God. Judas had the opportunity for eternal life but he chose to walk away, yet the opportunity was presented to him. Rejoice Jesus and the Holy Spirit will do great things through you and for you. When I wrote my annual report to Bishop Bryant I included this statement in my report "It is a joy and an honor to be a part of God's kingdom building. Every day he presents us with unique and wonderful opportunities to witness on his behalf. An annual report for a church is a report about the transformation of lives on behalf of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is an opportunity to share with the Bishop, Episcopal Supervisor, Presiding Elder and connectional church; the work we have done on behalf of Christ." I want you to look at your ministry and church work as opportunities to save and transform lives for eternity. It is not about the numbers but about the lives being saved. Our job is to win souls for Christ! We are to tell and show the good news to those who are hurting and living in sin. We are to tell them of new life with Christ. Do not become discouraged for your purpose is great and determined by our father. Welcome to S.A.R.C.U and let's all work together to continue the legacy of Richard Allen. The articles are on the left side of the page on the menu. We would also like you to join our group by filling out a form with some basic info. Please click on "join our mailing list" on the menu. I will put this in a database and as I come across grant info that might be helpful to your church and or area I can get it to you. God is doing a "New Thing" with our denomination and he needs foot soldiers. Those who will leave ego's at the door, those who have a servant's heart, those who want to glorify his son. For I believe with all my heart we are those vessels, that he wants to use to revitalize his church. No matter what your membership roll is in your church; remember it is your relationship with God that matters and it is that relationship with him that will provide all that you need. God is blessing you daily, open your heart and receive it. From one foot soldier to another let's do some powerful ministry for the lord all of the SMALL AND RURAL CHURCHES UNITED. We love to hear from you so please write us. Rev. Denise Rogers Founder Rev. Danielle Rogers Cofounder Bishop John Bryant Prelate Fifth District A.M.E Church Rev.
